Meet Local Author Lorraine Miano at Page 158 Books on November 29
(Wake Forest, NC, November 7, 2016) – Local author and Integrative Certified Health Coach Lorraine Miano discusses her first book The Magic of Menopause at Page 158 Books in Wake Forest on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m.
The free, meet-the-author event will include a lively Q&A session moderated by bookstore owner Sue Lucey along with dark chocolate and organic red wine for those in the audience who are 21 years of age or older. A portion of the proceeds from books purchased from the bookstore during the event will benefit Note in the Pocket, a Wake County non-profit that provides clothing to homeless and impoverished school-aged children.
“When I was about to become a grandmother, I knew I needed to make some lifestyle changes to have more energy and fewer aches and pains,” said Miano. “This book is a guide that will help you to live the rest of your life healthy and happy–at any age.”
The recently published book focuses on the struggles women face when going through big hormonal changes, like menopause. Miano refers to herself as your menopause fairy godmother by helping women tackle daily changes that happen during this transition. She says that by 2025, there will be 1.1 billion post-menopausal women in the world.
As a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York, Miano offers individual health and nutrition coaching as well as group coaching sessions. Originally from New York, Miano has lived in the Triangle area for 23 years. In addition to being a health coach and author, she has worked as vice president of Richard Miano Contracting, Inc., for nearly 40 years. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her three adult children and four grandchildren.
